OPPO Find X9s vs Find X8s: What Has Changed?

Oppo Find X9s
Oppo Find X9s

The OPPO Find X9s vs Find X8s comparison shows a change in size as well as a new processor and larger battery. The 2026 Find X9s has a 6.59-inch display and a 7,025mAh battery, while the 2025 Find X8s keeps a smaller 6.32-inch screen and a considerably lighter body.

This comparison uses the global Find X9s, model CPH2873, and the China-market Find X8s, model PKT110. The regional distinction matters particularly for storage choices and software support. Both remain triple-camera Find-series phones, but the newer model does not improve every specification.

Design and Build: Oppo Find X9s Gets Larger

The Find X9s measures 156.98 x 73.93 x 7.99mm and weighs approximately 202g. The Find X8s is shorter, narrower and lighter at 150.59 x 71.82mm and roughly 179g. Most Find X8s colours are 7.73mm thick, while the pink version measures 7.79mm.

That makes the newer phone about 23g heavier. The larger display and battery come with a noticeable increase in dimensions, so compactness remains a distinguishing feature of the Find X8s.

The Find X9s carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings, while the Find X8s has IP68 and IP69 protection. Fingerprint hardware also changes from an optical in-display sensor to an ultrasonic sensor.

Display: More Screen Area, the Same Pixel Density

The Find X9s increases screen size from 6.32 to 6.59 inches. Resolution rises from 2640 x 1216 to 2760 x 1256 pixels, while both phones retain a 460ppi pixel density. The newer panel therefore adds viewing area without changing that sharpness specification.

Both displays use AMOLED technology, support 10-bit colour and reach a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. High-brightness-mode output increases from 1,600 to 1,800 nits, while typical brightness remains 800 nits. Gorilla Glass 7i protects the Find X9s display.

Cameras: Three 50MP Cameras, Different Telephoto Reach

Shared Resolutions

Both phones have a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide and 50MP telephoto. The main cameras share an f/1.8 aperture and optical stabilisation, while both ultrawides have an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus. Front resolution also stays at 32MP with an f/2.4 lens.

The telephoto is a more meaningful distinction. The Find X9s offers 3x optical magnification with an f/2.6 aperture, compared with 3.5x and f/2.8 on the Find X8s. The older phone has the longer native telephoto view; the newer model has a wider telephoto aperture. Matching megapixel counts do not make these two lenses equivalent.

Video Capabilities

Front and rear video reach 4K at 60fps on both models. The Find X9s also supports 4K60 Dolby Vision across its cameras, giving it an HDR recording option alongside its Hasselblad imaging features. The unchanged maximum resolution and frame rate remain important similarities.

Processor: Dimensity 9500s Replaces Dimensity 9400+

Oppo Find X9s uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s, replacing the Dimensity 9400+ in the Find X8s. Both have octa-core CPUs, and both pair their processors with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage.

The processor changes, but the memory and storage standards remain familiar. A chipset name alone cannot establish sustained gaming performance or temperature differences, so there is no assumed percentage improvement here. The larger battery and screen are more directly measurable changes between the phones.

Software and Updates: ColorOS 16 at Launch

The Find X9s launches with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. The Find X8s started with ColorOS 15.0.1 based on Android 15. These launch versions describe their starting software, rather than the latest update installed on every device.

The Oppo Find X9s release includes five years of OS updates and six years of security updates.

Storage and RAM: More Choices on the Find X8s

The global Find X9s comes with 12GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage. The China-market Find X8s offers those combinations plus 16GB RAM versions with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB storage.

The older model therefore has higher maximum RAM and storage capacities in these configurations. Neither phone supports a memory card, so the built-in capacity remains the available local storage for apps, photos and videos.

Battery and Charging: A 1,325mAh Increase

The Find X9s has a 7,025mAh battery, compared with 5,700mAh in the Find X8s. That is approximately 23% more typical capacity. It is a substantial increase, although it does not translate directly into the same percentage gain in runtime.

Both phones support 80W wired charging. PPS charging rises from 33W to 55W on the newer model, adding a higher power ceiling with compatible PPS equipment while leaving the maximum SUPERVOOC figure unchanged.

The Main Differences

The Find X9s brings a larger display, much bigger battery, newer processor and ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

The Find X8s retains a smaller, lighter body, longer native telephoto reach and higher-capacity memory options. Both preserve three 50MP rear cameras, 4K60 recording and 80W wired charging.
