Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S26 FE on August 27, 2026, at its Unpacked launch event, with sales beginning September 4 in select markets and US carriers starting a day earlier. Positioned as the affordable entry in the Galaxy S26 family, it starts at $699—a $50 increase over its predecessor, reflecting broader memory price pressures.
The S26 FE retains a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, though peak brightness sits at 1,900 nits, noticeably below the standard S26’s 2,600 nits.
Powering the device is the 3nm Exynos 2500 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB.
The camera array includes a 50MP main sensor (OIS, f/1.8), a 12MP ultrawide, and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, plus a 12MP front camera.
A 4,900mAh battery supports 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare—an unusual advantage, as the FE’s battery is actually larger than the standard S26’s 4,300mAh cell.
Software is where the FE shines. It is the first phone in the S26 lineup to ship with Android 17 and One UI 9, backed by Samsung’s signature seven years of OS upgrades and security patches.
New camera features include My FanCam, which automatically tracks a selected person in videos, and Super Steady Video with Horizontal Lock for shake-free recording.
